Wwwaaahhhh!!!

Will you please excuse me for a moment while I have a hormonally induced melt-down? If not--then please just skip the rest of this blog post and come back tomorrow when, hopefully, I'll have gotten my attitude under control. If you are so inclined, then proceed...

I want this baby OUT. O.U.T. Out! I know things could be worse, and I know I should be 100% grateful for this pregnancy--and I am!! I'm so happy I can hardly contain myself at times! But other times? I feel huge. I feel puffy. I feel crabby. Lethargic. Irritable. Achy. I could go on... but I'll spare you.

I'm just ready to meet this little guy. I'm ready to hold him in my arms, ready to kiss his cute little cheeks... and I'm ready to start feeling at least a little bit like myself again.

I miss walking without a waddle, my wedding rings, my shoe collection, pants with zippers (ok--stretchy pants are pretty awesome...), sleeping on my back, moving without effort...

So, again, this is where you come in... favorite 'trick' for coaxing baby out of his nice, warm home?? Anything I should definitely NOT try?? (don't worry--I'm so NOT going the castor oil route!)

Um, almost 39 weeks pregnant allows anyone the right to complain!

I just simply put the dishes away and went to the bathroom to cause my water to break but something tells me from the way Julia is NON STOP daily I think she had something to do with it.

Either way, you are SOOO close. Congrats on going so very far. All too soon you will be going without sleep and wondering why the baby is crying AGAIN.

(I have heard of people jumping off of the curb to jolt their water breaking. Not sure about that one though. Pineapples? Did I read about that somewhere?)

I hate to burst your bubble but contrary to what others may tell you, I believe my doctor's theory and that is that when the baby is ready, he'll come out. Of course being induced for many various reasons would change that, but as far as being "coaxed", I don't believe in it. And some will tell you differently... that they did "something" and "wa-lah" but I think it was just a coincidence that it happened around the same time. You have to remember that your dates could be off so you might not really be almost 39 weeks and that is why he's taking so long in our eyes. But remember you want a FULLY cooked baby so he will tell you when that is (as long as you have enough fluid, etc. and the doc doesn't intervene, which don't get me wrong, I'm glad mine did! LOL!). So please don't hate me for writing this, but I just don't want you to have false hope that YOU can make it happen, you know?! Ugh... maybe I should have just kept my thoughts to myself and not written anything... cuz it's probably not what you are wanting to read right now?? Maybe?? Sorry... :(

I don't know a polite way to say this...but intercourse and nipple stimulation can bring things on....however, if the baby isn't ready, then even this won't work. (why do I feel like the "n" word is soo dirty?)

Don't feel bad honey...we were all ready to meet our babies. I was SO over being pregnant. And i know this won't make you feel better, but I tried everything and she still came when she was ready. Here is what I tried though:
LONG walks. Ashley swears that is how Sean came early

Spicy food: I ate lasagna 30 minutes before i went into labor.

Acupuncture points: You can find out where these are online

And last but not least:
S.E.X.

These are all worth trying, but again, Addie still came one day before her due date. Trust me, you forget ALL about this stage as soon as you are holding your little baby. Any day now sweetie!

With KalieAnn...she was three weeks late and trust me when I say I know that feeling of not just wanting the baby out to meet him/her but also the feeling of being yourself again...if you wind up being prego for 43 weeks you'll know what I mean when I say this feeling intensifies. I cried in the docotrs office a week before she was born because they wouldn't induce. She came on her own terms and she came out cooing. Hannah came a week early and I do believe sex helped her out on it. We had it and then I would always laid down when the contractions would hit from it but that day no matter how strong they were I stayed standing and whala there was Hannah! Try to relax and get some sleep now as hard as that is going to be because when that moments hits you will be amazed at the feeling of love that just overjoys you a long with the sleep deprevation. Sorry if this is so long, love ya!

Oh I so remember where you're at right now... Feeling huge and miserable, anxious, and just wanting to meet him soooo badly. Most of what I read online talked about long walks and sex, but neither worked for me. And when you're tired and can't breathe well, neither sound too great either. I finally just made a point to enjoy the last days I had before he arrived with my husband, and it helped time go by faster. I was really glad I did this too because the baby becomes your number one priority once he's born and the hubby gets a little left out.

I'm so excited for you though! I've been praying for you lots... especially knowing you could go into labor anyday now! Can't wait to see pictures!

Honey I don't blame you and I've never even been preggo! My sis in law is due on Friday too so she's right there with ya. I have been keeping my cell phone right close in hopes I'll have a half day of work cause of it! ;) Who knows? Maybe you'll be there to. He he. I hope I at least get a text message noting his arrival. Good luck hon. I'm prayin for you.

I was miserable near the end of each pregnancy, too. But, I also remember that late at night when I got up every two hours with a hungry newborn that I always wished I could put him back inside and get some rest. I took a long walk around the block before one labor started and had a temper tantrum before another one (induced by unfolded laundry and the doctor telling me it could be two more weeks past the due date!)
