Review: Baby Dipper Bowl & Spoon--GIVEAWAY CLOSED
I was recently given the opportunity to try a fun new product... The Baby Dipper Bowl & Spoon, created by Barbara Schantz, a busy mother of four. Yep, you read that correctly... four! and the little sweeties came in the form of twins... twice!
Anyway... the Baby Dipper is a triangular shaped bowl, designed to simplify one-handed feeding of infants AND to help toddlers as they learn to self-feed.
When this product arrived in the mail, I was so eager to take a look at it that I had the box and packaging open before Ryan even pulled in to the driveway! Upon first impression, I was delighted. The bowl is heavy and features a non-slip grip around the bottom edge. The spoon has a curved handle, making it easier to keep a grip on when eager Mr. Camden wants to 'help' at meal time, and it is also smooth enough not to hurt his tender gums.
With the bowl clean and ready for use (hand-washing is advisable to maintain the integrity of the rubber grip around the bottom), we set out to sample a breakfast of oatmeal and pears. As the website suggests, the contoured interior of the bowl helped to guide the food to the bottom 'corner' of the bowl, making it much easier for me to feed Camden with one hand. (My other hand is usually busy wrangling ten tiny fingers. He likes to put them IN his mouth with his food, which causes a *big* mess!) That contoured interior, combined with the non-slip grip sure does make my life easier! As an added bonus, there was hardly any food waste because it all 'slipped' to that bottom corner.
I'm tempted to buy another bowl to keep in the diaper bag... mama's, you'll agree, it's hard enough to feed baby on your lap when a high-chair isn't available. Right? Right. A bowl that won't slide around? I'll take one! or five! This bowl is by far my new favorite baby product. It's been used for every meal since it arrived, while our other bowls sit untouched!
If I could have one wish, I think it might be that the bowl hold just a touch more than four ounces. Granted, I'm new to this parenting thing and even more new to feeding time that involves something other than milk. Perhaps I'll learn that we don't really need more than a four ounce capacity.
Overall? The bowl is lead-free and phthalate-free, shatter-proof, easy to clean, functional and cute! I love it! So what are you waiting for?? Go buy one!
...but wait! (do I sound like an infomercial?) Before you buy, enter to win!! Yippee! a giveaway! Barbara has graciously offered to send a bowl and spoon set to one of my *lucky* readers!!

I learned that it is Phthalate-free

These days it's important to find products that are safe for our children so the fact that it is Phthalate-free and lead-free is great!

Ok, fine. I'm entering. :0)
Pssssht! I've been a follower for longer than I can remember.
I learned that the bowl itself is indeed microwave safe. However, I've always thought it was crazy to nook anything going in your child... microwaves don't heat evenly! :0)
I'm a last minute kind of girl!
and a follower!
Yikes, it's not dishwasher safe. I'll have to teach my 3 year old how to handwash!
