Success!!

Well, ok, not quite... but I'm so close! I need to touch up some blotchy spots on the tree trunk and branches, and I need to wash a few pencil marks off of the wall once everything is completely dry... but it's looks 'done' for pictures!



I can't *wait* to see the cute little baby corner all set up with a cute little crib and cute little sheets... sigh... it's all so cute and little!!

I'm just so gosh-darned excited that I can't quit working on the mural!! Those of you who have been preggo know that your blood vessels all expand and relax and whatever, making your arms likely to 'fall asleep' at a moments notice. Let me tell you, holding a little paint brush up above my head is NOT helping this matter--but I just.can't.stop.



So here's my current standing... I'm not quite done with the leaves, monkey-man still needs a face and some touch-up, and I think I might add in one more branch on the bottom left... maybe?

YAY! Back to painting!

So there you go! Obviously, the monkey still needs his face... but then again, he also still needs a second coat of paint, which you can't tell from the photo. The branches aren't done yet, and we'll certainly be needing some leaves!!

My Monkey Mural Madness...

Good news!! We have mural progress!!

Did I even mention I'm painting a mural in the baby corner? If not, well, then I'm... um... painting a mural in the baby corner.

Anyway--I started on it tonight! After hours... ok... days of searching for the correct light bulb for my overhead projector--so dutifully salvaged by the sweet hubbs last time I was pregnant, I drew the mural free-hand and didn't use the projector. Not his fault, not mine either. The darned thing is defunctive (yes, I know that's not a real word) and wasn't... projecting. Mind you, it was great for making shadow puppets on the ceiling! But that wasn't going to help me transfer a monkey to the wall...

So, I *gulped* a big chug of courage and just went for it. It's only a wall, right? I can re-paint the blue color if all else fails, right?

...and now, at just after ten PM, we've got a tree! and a monkey!!
