BINSI: Review & Giveaway!

Have you ever considered the possibility of wearing something other than a hospital gown as you deliver your precious little baby? Have you ever considered delivering a precious little baby? Maybe not, but stick with me. Because this is cool.

Carrie and Kimberly, creators of BINSI Labor & Birth Apparel, were tired of those boring, uncomfortable hospital gowns. So instead of complaining about it, they took matters into their own hands and came with up something new!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

BINSI skirts are designed to be worn during labor and delivery, and yes, they're hospital-approved. Each skirt is designed with snaps or Velcro to allow for easy, ehem, access, and with side slits to provide freedom of movement for various birth positions. or just for a little wiggle room... or waddle room, if you're nine months pregnant.

I'm sure I don't only speak for myself when I say hospital gowns aren't comfortable, and I don't even want to consider the number of people I may have flashed because of that obnoxious, wide open back.

Hospital gowns aside, these skirts are great! They're not just for labor and delivery, either. With an adjustable, draw-string waist and under-belly fit, they can be worn throughout pregnancy and then again as you return to your pre-pregnancy size. I'm months, if not years, away from my next labor and delivery, and I've got a BINSI! (It's super-comfy, too!)

Other perks include soft, cool cotton fabrics, a wide range of colors and styles to choose from, and an organic bamboo/cotton option.

Don't want a skirt?? Check out the other BINSI products, like the thankini, which would also be great for a nursing mommy or the Mama Ahh! chenille robe.

Because Carrie and Kimberly are just that cool, they're offering an in-stock item of choice (skirt or top) to one lucky reader! You may enter up to three times to win. Here's how:

Mandatory First Entry:

Visit the BINSI site and choose your favorite item. Leave a comment telling me what item you'd choose if you win. (Don't worry--you're not bound to this item if you win. You can change your mind.)

Optional Second Entry:

Thanks!

I'm giggling out loud reading the comments on my last post. You're all too cute--and just fun to read. I enjoyed all of your suggestions, your "umm's and uhh's" and skirting around words, lol!

I also wanted to mention, my 'eviction' attempts are all in good fun... and I know that I truly cannot hurry nature. It is a fun way to help pass the waiting time though, lol!

...and yes. I'm still here.

Wwwaaahhhh!!!

Will you please excuse me for a moment while I have a hormonally induced melt-down? If not--then please just skip the rest of this blog post and come back tomorrow when, hopefully, I'll have gotten my attitude under control. If you are so inclined, then proceed...

I want this baby OUT. O.U.T. Out! I know things could be worse, and I know I should be 100% grateful for this pregnancy--and I am!! I'm so happy I can hardly contain myself at times! But other times? I feel huge. I feel puffy. I feel crabby. Lethargic. Irritable. Achy. I could go on... but I'll spare you.

I'm just ready to meet this little guy. I'm ready to hold him in my arms, ready to kiss his cute little cheeks... and I'm ready to start feeling at least a little bit like myself again.

I miss walking without a waddle, my wedding rings, my shoe collection, pants with zippers (ok--stretchy pants are pretty awesome...), sleeping on my back, moving without effort...

So, again, this is where you come in... favorite 'trick' for coaxing baby out of his nice, warm home?? Anything I should definitely NOT try?? (don't worry--I'm so NOT going the castor oil route!)

To make matters even worse...

Oh my god... I thought I felt blindsided before. Are you ready for a doozie?

I went to my appointment today... and found out that the cut-off "size" for a D&C is 12 weeks. The baby stopped developing at 13.5 weeks, making me ineligible for the procedure by a week and a half.

The only option they have deemed safe for me, physically, is to be checked in to the hospital (in the labor & deliver ward, no less) where I'll be given medication every 4 hours or so to basically force my body to go in to labor. I'll have contractions/cramping, the medication will most likely make me sick, and it could take longer than 24 hours to complete the whole process.

I feel absolutely sick to my stomach. I've never had a hospital stay that I was old enough to remember (rotavirus at 9 months old, out patient surgery at 5 years...) and hospitals make me feel uneasy when I'm just a visitor, let alone a patient. I'm scared about the piddly things, like an IV and taking pain medication... scared about the nausea... but I'm obviously scared about what I'm going to experience, more than anything else.

Thank you all for your encouragement... it means a lot to me, and to Ryan. I'll be back soon to give everyone an update on how I'm feeling and what's going to happen next.
