From time to time, I come across a bug that doesn't give me a major case of the heebie-jeebies. Take caterpillars, for instance. They're cute, they're furry... relatively innocent.
And they don't scurry. I think that's a big part of it.
Someone should tell this little guy, though, that it's never fashionable to wear brown with black.
Anyway--since caterpillars don't result in screeching and running, I scooped him up so Camden could see too.
(no--those aren't my man-hands up there. They're Ryan's. I was busy taking pictures.)
It's always fun to show him something new.
Now--how to tell a ten-month-old that caterpillars don't make a good snack? ...and that we must be gentle, or he might squirt some sort of nasty bug juice on us?

How fun. Bet he'd like the mantis we have on our patio right now too, but he wouldn't want to touch that one.
So cute! I love looking at all of your pictures! You definitely have a talent!
What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
