Blogging 101: Adding a button to your sidebar

Ever wondered how to add a button to your sidebar?

Once you've done it a couple of times, it'll feel like an old trick. Here's how:

From your Blogger Dashboard, find the heading that reads 'Manage Blogs' and click on the 'layout' option for the appropriate blog. (If you only maintain one blog, you'll only see 'layout' one time on your screen.)

You should see a screen that looks similar to this:

Click on 'add a gadget,' located on the RIGHT side of your screen. If you have a two-column layout, unlike my three-column, there will only be ONE 'add a gadget' icon.

From the pop-up menu that appears, choose 'HTML/JavaScript' and then paste the code from the white box located directly below the button you want to add to your sidebar.

Currently, I have two button options: the Peanut's Page button and the Giveaway button. Each has a code directly below, and the same goes for other blogs you probably read every day.

Questions? Leave a comment. I'll answer to the best of my ability!
